JAMMU, Feb 27: SKUAST-Jammu scientists today held various veterinary clinical camps in Agrachak area of R.S Pura under DBT project for the benefit of Gujjar and Bakarwal women.
The project focuses on women upliftment and empowerment through improved health practices in livestock rearing.
The initiative has been taken in this regard by Dr. Jafrin Ara Ahmed, Principal Investigator of the project since July 2018.
Dr. Nawab Nashiruddullah, Dr. Ankur Sharma and Dr. Sumeet Kour participated in the veterinary clinical camp and distributed free medicines to the women.
The women were also sensitized on various aspects of personal health, hygiene and sanitation and were encouraged for continued education of the girl child.
