JAMMU, Oct 26: The skeleton of an unknown man was recovered today from Agore area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Gharota.
According to a police official, reliable sources today informed Gharota police that a human skeleton is lying in a forest area in Agore area. He said on getting information a police team immediately reached the spot and shifted the skeleton to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification.
The official said the skeleton was of a man but his identification could not be done. He said only cloth on the skeleton was a yellow-coloured T-shirt while a Kurta-Pajama and a pair of black coloured plastic shoes were lying near him. “Prime facie it appears that the man died about one month ago,” he added.
He said according to locals, the skeleton seems to be of a mentally unsound man who used to roam here and there and according to them he died of dehydration while he went to attend nature’s call in the ‘jungle’. “In this connection, inquest proceeding under 174 crPC has been initiated at police station Gharota,” the official further added.
