JAMMU, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI and Simula XI registered emphatic wins in their respective pools and entered into the semifinals of the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, which is being played at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match Atman XI defeated Christian Sports XI by 47 runs.
Batting first, Atman Sports XI scored 150 runs in allotted 16 overs game for loss of 6 wickets, with Jaswinder (36) Amrit (35) and Surya (27) being the main scorers. Sunny took 3 wickets, Romario took 2 and Neeraj claimed 1 wicket for CSO.
Christian Sports, in reply, bundled out for 103 runs to lose the match by 47 runs. Anthony was the main scorer with 36 runs, while Neeraj and Rishu contributed 14 runs each. Vijay Dogra was main bowler of Atman who took 4 wickets for his team, while Surya and Chetan took 1 wicket each. Vijay Dogra was declared man of the match.
In the second match, Simula XI registered huge win over RCC Srinagar in an easy contest.
Batting first, Simula scored a decent total of 162 runs in 20 overs. Shashi scored brilliant unbeaten 52 runs, while Puneet hit power-packed 49 runs off 15 balls, studded with 5 sixes and 3 boundaries. Kuldeep took 3 wickets for RCC Srinagar, while Monu took 2 and Satish one.
In reply, RCC collapsed at 94 runs, thus lost the match by 68 runs. Avinash (33) and Ishant (20) were the main contributors. Sameer Khajuria bowled a magnificent spell of 4 overs and scalped 7 wickets, while Deepak took 2 wickets and Vivek one. For his extraordinary bowling display, Sameer Khajuria was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, J&K Police thrashed BCC by 49 runs.
Batting first, JKP scored 150 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs with Rajesh Gill top scoring with 40 runs, while Rompy and Naresh contributed 34 and 32 runs to the total respectively.
Sattar and Nazeer took 2 wickets each for BCC XI. BCC XI bundled out for 101 in 19.3 overs. Jamat Ali top scored with 59 runs, while Majid contributed 14 runs. For JKP XI Ashwani took 5 wickets and RK Bhat scalped 3 wickets. Vishal and Rompy claimed 1 wicket each. Ashwani Khajuria was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling. The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman and Sandeep Manchand as umpires while Shahrukh was the scorer.
