NEW DELHI, Jan 3: Silver prices edged higher by 0.20 per cent, to Rs 45,439 per kg in futures trade today after participants built up positions, taking positive cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in March up by Rs 91, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 45,439 per kg in business turnover of 1,787 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May traded Rs 73, or 0.16 per cent, higher at Rs 46,390 per kg in 40 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a firming trend in the global market on speculation demand will rise.
Meanwhile, silver gained 1.3 per cent to USD 20.28 an ounce in Singapore. (AGENCIES)
