JAMMU, Oct 26: Shiromani Akali Dal- Badal, (SAD), Panthic Morcha has demanded equal treatment to the Kashmir based Sikh families at par with the Kashmiri Hindus/ Pandits.
In a press statement here today, the members of Panthic Morcha of the SAD J&K Unit, expressed strong resentment over the decision of the Union Home Ministry giving concession to Kashmiri Pandits/ Hindus with regard to admission in higher educational institutions all over the country from 2020-21 academic session, ignoring Sikh community residing in Kashmir despite militants’ threats and killings of many community members.
It is very strange that the Sikh community has been ignored by the Union Government with regard to the provision of benefits. The SAD demanded all the facilities at par with the KPs for all the Sikh community members in Kashmir. They termed this decision as highly discriminatory.27
