JAMMU, July 5: Sikander Gladiator thrashed Resham Garh Cricket Club (RGCC) by 28 runs in the final and lifted the title trophy of the Champions Trophy Cosco Ball Cricket Tourney, being played at Resham Garh cricket ground here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Sikander Gladiators scored 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 12 overs. Jerry played superb innings and chipped in 52 runs of 22 balls, while Preeti and Bhanu also contributed 29 and 25 runs respectively.
For RGCC side, Sunny was the pick of the bowler, who scalped 4 wickets.
In reply, RGCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 101 runs for all out in 11.3 overs. Nazim chipped in 30 rns, while sunny also made 16 runs.
For Sikander Gladiators side, Bake was the wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets.
Jerry of Sikander Gladiators was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
On the valedictory function, Munish Sharma, State secretary, BJP was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Balbir Kumar, Ex-corporator, Ward Number 12, Imran, Ankit and Robil, Organizers, local populace and sports lovers.
