JAMMU, Oct 28: Sidhant Cricket Academy defeated Col Chopra Cricket Academy Yellow by 9 wickets in the Col R N Chopra U-12 Challenge Cup, which got underway at IIIM Cricket ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, CCA scored a paltry total of 68 runs in 18.1 overs. Lakshay Sethi and Arnav Mengi contributed 10 runs each. For Sidhant Academy, Pratiyush took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs, while Shivansh and Karmanya took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Sidhant Academy chased the target in 9 overs by losing one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Archit was the top scorer with unbeaten 43 runs, while Charan contributed unbeaten 7 runs to the total. For CCA Yellow, Aksham took the lone wicket to fell.
The participating teams include Col Chopra Academy Yellow, Blue, Green and Red; Sidhant Academy A and B, KC International Public School, Model Academy, GD Goenka Public School, Jodhamal Public School, RRL High School, Gandhi Nagar Fighters and Unique Cricket Academy, Udhampur.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Zabeer Ahmad, Rakesh Basin, Sukomal Ganguly, Deepak Dogra and Akash Manhas.
