JAMMU, Nov 28: Judo players from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma were conferred with State and Sher-e-Kashmir Awards.
Shweta Thakur, International Judo Player has been conferred with State Award and Sher-i-Kashmir Award by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, while Danish Sharma has been conferred with Sher-e-Kashmir Award.
Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma are both international players and have various medals in their kitties. They are also All India University Champions.
Shweta is the first girl of Jammu and Kashmir to get gold for the erstwhile State of J&K in senior National Championship, while Danish Sharma is a qualified NIS coach and topper of National Institute of Sports of batch 2017-18.
Vice President Judo Federation of India and General Secretary J&K Judo Association Vikas Gupta has congratulated Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma on achieving this fate.
