JAMMU, Aug 25: Shubham Khajuria scored a magnificent century, while Arjun Choudhary made a brilliant half century to make an unbeaten opening partnership of 174 runs in just 20.2 overs while chasing the target set by Vishal Cricket Club, thus winning the match of KC Sports Club Cricket Cup, being played at Club’s ground, here.
Shubham made unbeaten 107 off 73 balls, while Arjun contributed 59 not out off 43 deliveries to help their team register a 10-wicket victory. Both the batsmen sent the rival bowlers on a leather hunt by hitting the ball with utmost brilliance and fluid grace.
None of the Vishal Club bowlers could make any impression as almost all of them failed to hit the good areas.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Vishal Cricket Club, after early hiccups managed to score decent 173 runs in 34 overs in a 40-Over match. Southpaw Veenu Khajuria top scored with 37 runs, while Ramandeep Singh and Robin contributed 34 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Rajesh Gill, Rakesh Koul and Praful Dhar also added some useful runs to the team’s total. From KCSC-A, Shubham Khajuria made the early damage with his military medium stuff, taking the wickets of Rohan Gill and Amritpal Singh in his 1st two overs. Vicky Raina also bowled his slowers with nagging line and teasing length.
Shubam Khajuria was declared as the man of the match and was awarded with a Gift Voucher sponsored by Ramada Hotel.
