JAMMU, May 3: J&K’s promising Under-19 opening batsman Shubam Khajuria has left for a month long camp at Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) to be organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at Dharamshalla in Himachal Pradesh from May 5, 2014.
Another cricketer from the State, Nasir Lone is also part of the camp having 30 probables from allover the Country.
While Nasir has been picked in the party for his 10 wickets in Under-19 4-day matches, besides 6 in one-dayers, Shubam was picked in the probables for his outstanding batting display in 4-dayers and one-dayers while representing the State in BCCI Under-19 Tournaments last season, besides a good show while representing India in the Under-19 Series against Sri Lanka and in four nation quadrangular series in India.
The ace opening batsman, scored 575 runs in 6 innings’ of 4-day matches, with a double ton, 150, 90 and 45 being the major contributions; while in 4 one-dayers, Shubam scored a magnificent century and three splendid half-centuries, besides scoring 52 and 36 in Sri Lanka, representing India and 42 runs in one off innings in quadrangular series.
