Shopian youth detained in Rajouri

JAMMU, Nov 30: Rajouri Police has prevented a youth from Shopian district of South Kashmir from joining militancy and detained him at Daehali bridge from a Tavera vehicle in which he was travelling.
He has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar, a resident of Narpora, Shopian.
The detained youth was reportedly in contact with some militants through Social Media platforms and he was called to Rajouri.
“On the basis of specific information, police constituted a team and intercepted him. He was travelling to Rajouri district in a passenger Tavera vehicle,” police officials said.
“During questioning of the detained boy, it has been found that he was in regular contact with some militants through Social Media handles and was all set to join militancy ranks,” the officials said
They said that the youth was called to Rajouri from where he was to be given next destination but before he could reach Rajouri, police team succeeded in detaining him.
“Police in Kashmir has been informed about the detention,” said officials.
