JAMMU, Nov 23: A shop along with cotton spinning unit was completely gutted in a major fire incident in Rajouri town this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that due to short circuit the shop of quilts, pillows and other cotton items along with cotton spinning unit caught fire at around 5 pm near slaughter house in ward No. 8 Rajouri today. It was being run there by a UP based trader. The fire tender rushed to the spot and controlled the fire but majority of the cotton items had burnt in the mishap.
The police party also rushed there and joined rescue work. The fire was prevented from spreading in the adjoining shops. The loss of property was being assessed. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
