RAJOURI, June 12: A shop was gutted in the busy market near Panja Chowk in Rajouri town here last mid night.
A police spokesman said that Bhasin Provision Store suddenly caught fire at around 12.30 am. A watchman noticed the smoke coming out of a closed shop and immediately raised alarm. A police patrol moving in the market rushed there. They informed local Fire Service unit and also sounded alert at Police Station, Rajouri.
After some time, Police party and two Fire tenders reached the spot and the firemen started fire fighting operation. The fire was contained and not allowed to spread in the adjoining shops. The loss of property was being ascertained but actual cause of fire could not be known immediately. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
