JAMMU, Feb 13: In connection with celebration of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti falling on February 25 a grand Shoba Yatra will be taken out from here on February 23.
This was announced at a press conference here today by Vijay Lochan president of the Sabha.
He said all arrangements are in place for the celebrations. The Shoba yatra will start from Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Krishna Nagar at 11 am and after passing through different bazaars including Guru Ravi Dass Chowk, Vinayak Bazar, J P Chowk, Indira Chowk, Shalamar road, City Chowk, Ragunath bazaar, Gurudwara Sunder Singh road, Vivekanand Chowk, Prem Nagar, Sher-e-Kashmir, Tawi bridge, it will culminate at Guru Ravi Dass Mandir Sheikh Nagar Bahu Fort.
He said a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu province will participate in the Shoba Yatra. The Shoba Yatra will be conducted under the aegis of Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Ji Giri Maharaj. Swami Ji will deliver religious sermons after conclusion of the Shoba Yatra at Guru Ravi Dass Mandir Bahu Fort.
Mr Lochan said religious, social and political leaders will pay tributes to Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj on the occasion. Besides, Guru Ka Langer will be served on both the occasions at both the places. The district and tehsil Guru Ravi Dass Sabhas of R S Pura, Nowshera, Samba, Kathua etc will organise Shoba Yatras on February 16 ,17, 18 and 20, he added.
The Sabha has made appeal to the devotees of this great Guru to participate in these religious functions en-mass and seek blessings of Guru Ji Maharaj.
He said different committees have also been constituted by the Sabha to make arrangements for the celebrations and Shoba Yatras.
Sabha has also made an appeal to Traffic Department to make elaborate arrangements during the Shoba Yatra day and on the celebrations on February 25 by diverting the traffic from other routes.
Others who present in the press conference included Sham Lal Basson, Sham Sunder Basson, Mohan Lal Hans, Sewa Dass Digra, Parshotam Thappa, Sham Basson, Surjit Singh Heer, Sunil Dutt and Kesar Singh.
