JAMMU, July 20: Demanding clarity and green signal to the annual Amarnath pilgrimage, activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir held a protest demonstration, here today.
Led by their leader Ashok Gupta and carrying placards, the activists raised slogans in support of their demand and urged the J&K Lt Governor GC Murmu to issue clear order on commencement of the yatra.
“Yatra must go on and till the time Shivling is there in the cave shrine people should be allowed to visit and pay obeisance,” said Ashok Gupta while addressing the gathering during protest demonstration.
Admitting that the growing crisis of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir was a matter of concern, Mr Gupta stressed that the Government should also take care of the religious sentiments of the devotees and clarify its stand regarding the Amarnath Yatra. He stressed that Charri Mubarak should be taken to the Shrine along with Sadhus and Sants who wait for an entire year to bow their heads in front of the Shivling.
“The SOP should be issued for the yatries so that they have a clarity about the rules and regulations they have to abide by and the testing should be done at Lakhanpur or they have to get the test report with themselves,” Ashok Gupta said suggesting that the pilgrims should be allowed in the small batches along with Sadhu, Sants for the Charri Yatra.
