JAMMU, Dec 4: Congress candidate for Jammu West constituency, Surinder Singh Shingari today launched a scathing attack on BJP Government at the Centre for decline in economic growth in manufacturing and export sector during last quarter of the current financial year.
“It was at the rate of 1.3% in the same quarter of 2013, whereas it came to just 0.1% in previous quarter of 2014 and the export has also declined by 5% during last 6 months of BJP rule which is alarming” Shingari said.
“Thrust for BJP is just to project growth in party’s global impression and in the meanwhile, decline in overseas demand for Indian goods is not focused upon” he added.
Addressing people in Ward No. 25 (Rehari) of Jammu West constituency, he said that economic growth requires a peaceful state of affairs in the country which is pushed to dangerous dimensions when ruling party is only involved in deliberate intent to destroy social bonds for its benefit at the cost of national growth. “How a nation can grow in the long run having a ruling party with divisive agenda?” he asked.
Commenting upon BJP’s “Make in India” hype, Shingari said that present Government has given up the idea of a competitive ‘Made in India’ manufacturing sector. “By ‘make in India’ BJP means India cannot make by itself what is to be manufactured in India by foreign companies” he said.
“Our PM, during his trip to USA, said that files in India do not get salvation even after rotating on thirty two ‘Dhaams’. He did not know how it would mean about Indians for international community?” Shingari asked.
“As as long as sensitive nerves are intentionally touched with a semi hidden agenda, there cannot be ‘saab ka saath and saab ka vikas’. The country cannot walk merely with talks”, he added.
Others who accompanied Shingari were Anil Chopra, president DCC, Kirti Gupta, general secretary, DCC, Keshav Anand, block president and Rajesh Sharma, ward president.
