Sharma, Lt Gen Singh meet Guv

Srinagar, Aug 29: Dineshwar Sharma, Special Representative for Dialogue in J&K called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today. He extended his greetings to Malik on his appointment as the Governor.
Sharma apprised Governor about his gathered opinion in course of meeting a varied cross section of society after his appointment as Special Representative for J&K.
Malik and Sharma discussed a range of issues related to internal security situation, developmental scenario and initiatives required for protecting and promoting the educational and career interests of youth.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, GoC-in-C Northern Command accompanied by Lt Gen A K Bhatt, GoC 15 Corps, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today and extended greetings to him on his appointment as Governor of J&K.
Lt Gen Singh, who has undertaken extensive tour to review operational preparedness of troops along the LoC and hinterland, shared his views with the Governor.
The Governor and the Army Commander also reviewed the situation along the IB and LAC. The Governor stressed that all security forces must act with complete co-ordination and synergy to achieve effective security on the ground.
