Doda, June 2: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary along with Minister of State for Education, Tourism, Rural Development, Tribal Affairs, Information, R&B, YSS, Revenue and culture Shakti Raj Parihar chaired a meeting of line departments to review the pace of ongoing development works in this mountainous district.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bhawani Rakwal, Chief Engineer PHE and Irrigation, SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed, ADDC, ADC, Executive Engineers besides all the district officers.
During the meeting, discussion was held regarding the physical and financial achievements under various sectors . Issues related to bottlenecks faced by the departments for achieving the optimum targets were also raised by the concerned before the Ministers.
The Ministers reviewed the progress on major projects including Shiva Dal bridge, Government Medical College Ghat, Govt Polytechnic College Beoli, Mini Secretariat Doda, Sports Stadium and others.
The Ministers were apprised that the work in all these projects in going on with full pace and they are at different phases of completion.
Sham Lal took stock of the water supply position in the district and asked the concerned officer to take adequate steps to augment supply in the stressed areas. He directed Executive Engineer PHE to complete a minimum 20 water supply schemes under NRDW in Doda constituency by the end of this year.
Terming development as the main agenda of present Govt, he urged the administration to act as arms and machinery of Govt to execute the policies on ground made for welfare of the common masses.
He also directed the officers to conduct regular visits to water treatment plants so that households get access to clean drinking water supply.
Shakti directed the officers of district administration to pay regular field visits and listen to public and redress their grievances on the spot. He laid special emphasis on construction and maintenance of roads in the district and asked the administration to cooperate with the agencies involved in execution of works.
