JAMMU, June 9: A comprehensive Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) review meeting was held today at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhalwal to assess the functioning of healthcare services and discuss measures for further strengthening public health infrastructure and patient care delivery in the region.
The meeting was jointly chaired by MLA Jammu North Sham Lal Sharma and MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana, and attended by SDM North Deepak Kumar, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bhalwal Dr Rabia Khan, BDO Bhalwal Dr Sunil Sharma, besides officers from other departments.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the Hospital’s functioning was undertaken, covering the availability of medical facilities, patient care services, manpower requirements, diagnostic and laboratory facilities, emergency healthcare services, and the implementation of various public health programmes. Discussions were also held on the challenges being faced by the institution and the steps required to further improve healthcare accessibility and service delivery for the people of the area.
Addressing the meeting, both legislators underscored the importance of a robust and responsive healthcare system and reiterated their commitment towards strengthening medical infrastructure and improving healthcare facilities for the public.
They emphasized that quality healthcare should be accessible to every citizen and stressed the need for ensuring adequate manpower, availability of essential medicines, modern diagnostic facilities, and efficient patient care services.
Sham Lal Sharma highlighted the need for proactive measures to address infrastructural gaps and called upon the concerned authorities to work in a coordinated manner to enhance healthcare delivery standards. He emphasized regular monitoring of healthcare services to ensure effective and timely medical assistance to patients.
Devyani Rana stressed the importance of patient-centric healthcare and emphasized that continuous efforts must be made to upgrade healthcare infrastructure in line with the growing needs of the population. She assured full support in addressing the genuine requirements of the hospital.
During the meeting, Dr Rabia Khan presented a detailed overview of the healthcare services being provided at SDH Bhalwal and highlighted the Hospital’s achievements, ongoing initiatives, and priority areas requiring attention.
