SURANKOTE, Sept 24: Youth Congress State president Shahnawaz Choudhary visited various flood affected areas in Surankote Assembly constituency and distributed relief among the victims.
He also visited flood relief camp at Potha in Surankote and Surankote Market Relief Camp where he distributed blankets and food items among the victims.
Later he visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Surankote where the buildings of the school were damaged due to heavy land sliding. He along with the Principal of the school analyzed the situation and demanded the construction of school buildings at some other safe place.
While speaking to the victims of this most devastating flood at relief camp, setup at Potha, Shahnawaz Choudhary said that the flood has caused a great loss to the residents of Surankote alongside the river. He also requested the Government to take appropriate measures to rehabilitate affected people taking no time.
Youth Congress president also distributed blankets and other essentials at various other places in Surankote as a primary relief measure for the flood victims who suffered loss to their houses and agricultural land.
Shahnawaz Choudhary was accompanied by various locals and youth leaders including Fairoz Khan, Sakander Hayat, Mohd Yaseen, Ajaz Choudhary, Abhishek Dogra, Rafakat, Bukhtiar Shah and others.
