RAJOURI, Dec 28: Minister of State of Power, Shabir Ahmed Khan, has said that load of 50MVA Grid Station Kalakote will be shifted to Burn- Akhnoor- Siot- Kalakote double circuit transmission line to relieve consumers of Rajouri and Poonch districts from unscheduled power curtailment. For the purpose, the Government has released funds worth Rs. 13 lakh.
The Minister directed the Chief Engineer System and Operation, Jammu, to complete the necessary work at the earliest so that the electricity load would be distributed to other Grid Stations of the area to avoid un-scheduled power cuts in the area.
The Minister was reviewing the power supply position in these twin districts at an Engineers meeting held here today.
Superintendent Engineer, M&RE, Rajouri-Poonch district, Manmohan Singh, Executive Engineer, STD, Poonch- Rajouri, Executive Engineers, M&RE, Rajouri and Poonch districts, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the decision of shifting the load has been taken in the backdrop of additional requirement of 200 amperes. It was apprised that overloading on the existing power system has been caused due to lack of required electric infrastructure, which is being now upgraded in these areas under several Centre and State Plans.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure time bound completion of all power works in the area besides exhorting the field functionaries for being punctual towards their duties in their respective jurisdictions for convenience of consumers.
Later, the Minister inaugurated Kissan Mela at Rajouri which was organised by the Agriculture Department to acquaint the farmers of the area with latest agriculture farming trends for increasing the production.
