JAMMU, July 8: In a major enforcement drive, the Traffic Police Rural today conducted a joint naka checking at Salani Bridge under the supervision of SSP Traffic Jammu Rural, Farooq Qaiser and seized several vehicles in Rajouri area.
The drive was led by District Traffic Inspector (DTI) Rajouri, Kapil Manhas, along with Sub-Inspector Mohammad Iqbal. During the drive, the officials booked a large number of violators for various offences, including riding without helmets, unauthorized vehicle alterations, overloading, driving without a valid driving licence, using mobile phones while driving, and other documentation-related violations.
As part of the enforcement action, 10 motorcycles, three scooties, one Swift car fitted with illegal tinted glass, and one e-rickshaw were seized for violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The Traffic Police also realized an on-the-spot fine of Rs 32,000 from violators for various traffic offences.
