KARGIL, Dec 11: Several delegations called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas on the first day of his tour to Kargil.
The CEC Dr Mohd Jaffer raised various issues and grievances and presented a memorandum of demands which includes a Special Package to clear pending land, house, and tree compensation, extension of JJM scheme until the end of September 2024 to complete the pending JJM works, continuation of the services provided by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JK BOSE) to Private recognized/affiliated schools of district Kargil, issue relating to Kargil Radio Station, as the post of Deputy Director General was shifted to Leh, need to strengthen of AIR Kargil to counter the Radio Skardu/ Gilgit Baltistan PoK, Need of keeping Kargil -Srinagar Road open as long as possible during winter, providing a consultant to prepare a document to make Kargil a tourist destination, Need to make CCDA non lapsable keeping in view the short working season in Ladakh, restoration of Private Helicopter Service from Leh & Kargil to Zanskar, ensuring proper functioning of Directorate Offices at Kargil, posting of adequate Doctors/Consultant to District Hospital Kargil (DHK) and CHC’s also.
While replying to the request regarding the Special Package to clear pending land, house, and tree compensation, the LG instructed the CEC to project the pending liabilities, so that the issue can be solved.
While replying to the extension of JJM in the district, LG assured to take the issue with the concerned.
While replying the issue relating to Kargil Radio Station, LG assured that the issue will be followed up.
Regarding the proper functioning of Directorate Offices at Kargil, the Lt. Governor directed the concerned to setup the biometric system in the offices.
While replying the issue of release of sufficient funds under NDRF for permanent restoration of works damaged by Flood, the Lt Governor directed the concerned to look into the matter.
While replying the issue related to continuation of the services provided by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (J&KBOSE) to private recognized/affiliated schools of district Kargil, the Lt. Governor assured to take up the issue.
