UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: Senior Citizens Club Udhampur has appealed Lt Governor of J&K to initiate dialogue with the striking lawyers for a judicious outcome of the deadlock.
In an emergent meeting of the Senior Citizens Club Udhampur, various aspects of the ongoing strike of Lawyers for the last 26 days across the Jammu region were deliberated upon at length. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Club, Dr Adarsh Prakash, President of the Club Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, Gen Sec Raj Guru, Mohan Singh Treasurer, RC Mannotra, Advisor and other members of the Club.
Mahadeep Singh Jamwal said that the ongoing strike of the Lawyers against the shifting the registration powers from Judicial officers to Revenue authority is neither in the interest of the lawyers nor for the common people. “The common man does not carry a good opinion about Revenue department as it has been ranked as one of the most corrupt departments by State Vigilance Commission in the year 2018,” he said and added that the silence of the Government on the issue is not a healthy sign for the welfare of common masses.
