Srinagar, Mar 7: Scores of applicants for the posts of Assistant Professor today staged a protest here and demanded issuance of selection list which has been deferred by Public Service Commission (PSC).
Holding placards, the applicants assembled here at press enclave and raised slogans in favour of their demand. They said that the PSC, by withholding the list, has put the future of thousands of aspirants on stake for want of MSP certificate from PhD degree holders.
“The PSC is following the diktats of Kashmir and Jammu varsities and as a result our career has been put at stake. For few hundred applicants, the selection list for five subjects has been withheld and whole recruitment process has been stalled,” the applicants said.
Urging the PSC to publish the selection list without further delay, the applicants sought the intervention of State’s Governor, NN Vohra into the matter.
Pertinently, the PSC said it will not issue selection list for five subjects linked with MSP row and would wait till a meeting of UGC committee is held in Delhi in next few days. However, the PSC has published the selection list for language subjects as they have no MSP issue.
