SRINAGAR: Security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Sunday, official sources said.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants, troops of CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint search operation at village Cherwan, Kangan, in Ganderbal this morning.
After sealing all exit points, security forces launched house-to-house searches, they said, adding no contact has been established with the militants so far.
The operation was going on when the reports last came in.
