Security forces celebrate Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 16: Security forces celebrated 75th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.
75th Independence Day was celebrated with national fervour at IRP 19th Battalion Headquarters Kathua at which Commandant IRP 19th Battalion SSP Benam Tosh hoisted the National Flag and took salute in the presence of SP Santokh Raj, Deputy SP Kuldeep Raj Tripathi and other senior officers. The march past was followed by well organized cultural programme. At the end of the national function, rewards and trophies were given away to the best performers.
JKAP 7th Battalion celebrated 75th Independence Day at Battalion Headquarters APC Channi Himmat Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Suneel Raj, Commandant JKAP 7th Battalion.
Police Academy Udhampur celebrated 75th Independence Day at Academy premises. Dr SD Singh, Jamwal, ADGP Security J&K/Director Police Academy Udhampur/Director SSG J&K, who was chief guest on the occasion unfurled the National Flag and inspected Independence Day Parade. Jamwal also decorated 26 officers and officials who were awarded DGP’s Commendation Medal and Certificates during the year 2019 and 2020. Among others Mohan Lal, SSP, Dy Director (Indoor/Training), Vijay Kumar Jamwal, SSP, Dy Director (Outdoor), Vinay Kumar, SSP, Dy Director (Administration), Suraj Singh DySP, AD (Trg/R&D), KK Sharma were present on the occasion.
All units and establishments of CRPF based in Jammu region celebrated 75th Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav). National Flag was unfurled at all the locations. On the occasion, a programme was organized at Group Centre CRPF Campus Jammu. Chief guest PS Ranpise, IGP Jammu Sector hoisted the National Flag at the Quarter Guard in presence of senior officers, subordinate officers and jawans of CRPF Campus Jammu. In addition to the above programs, the flag was hoisted by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Group Center, CRPF Jammu as the chief guest at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu. During this program, Dr Manju Nathan, (Deputy Commissioner) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dr Madan Mohan Jha, Director, Central Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya Kotbhalwal, Jammu and Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Banatalab Jammu, Suraj Prasad and Prem Chandra Gupta, Commandant, Group Center, CRPF Jammu, teachers and students of the school were also present.
75th Independence Day was celebrated at Range Police Headquarters Batote. DIG DKR Range Udayabhaskar Billa hoisted the National Flag at Range Headquarters. A small cultural event was also organised.
Indian Army Unit based at Bhaderwah hoisted tricolor with kids of migratory Gujjar and Bakarwal population in the upper reaches of Daggar Dhar (Rajgot Top). Various games were organized by the team of Indian Army. Dr Zulfikar, President Seasonal Mobile School informed that it was for the first time that such an event was held at this height.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Major General Neeraj Gosain, General Officer Commanding ‘Tiger Division’ laid floral wreath at Balidan Stambh. A cultural programme by NCC cadets followed by a Band Concert was also organized on the occasion.
In the run up to 75th Independence Day, Lam based Rashtriya Rifle organized an ‘Independence Week’, wherein large number of activities were carried out in the Battalion Area of Responsibility. The celebrations culminated with flag hoisting carried by the Battalion at various locations including Anwas Bhandar, Sariya and Gunni Kallar.
