BHADERWAH, Aug 10: The second batch for ancient Mani-Mahesh Yatra left from here along with holy mace for onward journey to the holy shrine of Mani-Mahesh in Bharmod of Himachal Pradesh.
Around 500 devotees from villages Manthla, Malani, Duggi, Dandi, Kansar, Dhossa Pani, Dalain, Dhamunda and Thubba proceeded from Lakshmi Narayan Temple Bhaderwah to Bheja village, where the pilgrims will stay for the night and then proceed further towards the shrine in Himachal Pradesh.
It is pertinent to mention here that devotees proceed towards Mani-Mahesh Yatra via Bhaderwah-Padri-Chamba route on foot and during Yatra, the pilgrims of second batch will reach for its first night stay at Bheja village and on August 11 early in the morning, the Yatra will proceed to its next stay at Padri meadows and after that they will enter into Himachal Pradesh for their next stay.
However, another group of pilgrims will leave along with holy mace (Charri Mubarak) on Janam Ashtami.
Beside local administration, the pilgrims were flagged-off by MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, MLA and President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Ved Kumar Kotwal who also joined the second batch of the pilgrims till Sungli village.
Meanwhile, adequate security arrangements have been made by administration for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra.
