AKHNOOR, Aug 2: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta here today chaired a preparatory meeting for celebration of 76th Independence Day.
The meeting was attended by all the heads of line departments.
During meeting, Tehsildar Chowki Choura elaborated the officers about their mandatory duties like arrangement of required contingent for Guard of Honour, provision of National Flag, maintenance of law and order, proper sanitation and medical facilities, illumination of all government buildings in the Sub Division etc.
The Committee of Judges for choosing best performers was also formed to make the event a grand success.
It was stressed upon the officers by the SDM to adhere to assigned tasks quite sincerely and within timeframe.
The SDM also directed the Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School, ZEO and ZEPO to constitute a separate Committee for conducting an event under banner ‘Display Your Talent’ on August 10, 2023 and allow the students between 10 to 18 years of age to participate in any cultural or sports activity, whereby the best performer shall be suitably awarded during Independence Day celebrations.
Tehsildar Chowki Choura listened to the grievances of the inhabitants of village Budhi and assured them that their genuine demands will be redressed very soon.
He advised them to immediately report any type of damage caused due to heavy rains so that requisite measures under SDRF norms could be taken by District Administration.
On the way back, SDM noted a few spots vulnerable to soil erosion and shooting stones, due to ongoing widening of NH144A and he alerted the HR Manager of M/s R&C Infra Company to take all the safety measures to prevent logjam of traffic on Akhnoor-Rajouri-Poonch Highway.
The much-awaited Prime Minister Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Centre was also made ready there to facilitate the poor inhabitants of Chowki Choura and its formal inauguration will be done very soon.
