Scientific-methods required for quality investigation: IGP

JAMMU, Oct 18: Involvement and close supervision of senior officers and use of scientific-investigation methods is required for quality investigation and public satisfaction.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dilbagh Singh, while, reviewing overall view of the crime, security, law and order situation of the Jammu zone at Zonal Police headquarters, which was attended by Range DIGs and District SSPs of Jammu Zone.
During the meeting, maintenance of law and order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, special attention to public importance cases, steps taken on counter insurgency front for a better security, besides various other issues were also discussed.
IGP expressed concern over the cases of vehicle thefts and other thefts, burglary cases, drive against drug peddlers where further efforts were required to be made to check these kinds of crime.   Suicide cases and road accidents leading to death on roads and injuries to many people were areas of special concern, he added.
IGP stressed that touring by police officers in their respective areas, meeting people and interacting with them on social and professional matters is of significance.
The Range DIGs and District SSPs, who made presentations about their respective areas covering all professional matters were JP Singh, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, Danish Rana, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Jagjeet Kumar, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Garib Dass, DIG Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar Range, Prabhat Singh, SSP Jammu, Atul Goal, SSP Kathua, Israr Khan, SSP Samba, Shamsher Hussain, SP Poonch, Mubasshir Latiefi, SP Rajouri, Ragubir Singh, SSP Reasi, Bhim Sen Tuti, SP Kishtwar, Ashkoor Wani, SSP Udhampur, Anil Mangotra, SP Ramban and Arif Rishu, SP Doda.
