JAMMU, Oct 12: State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Divisional Office Jammu organized Divisional Level Jawahar Lal Nehru Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for children and a seminar on Scientific Academic Institute of India in collaboration with NCERT New Delhi, today at Teacher’s Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The events aimed at inculcating the scientific temper among the growing and budding future scientists studying at Secondary and Senior Secondary Level, was inaugurated by Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu as chief guest, in presence of H R Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Rajesh Kumar- Personnel Officer Directorate of School Education Jammu, Chief Education Officer Jammu, Principal DIETs, SCERT Faculty, students and escort teachers.
The Chief Guest observed all the models exhibited by the students of various schools with keen interest. He impressed upon the significance of the innovative, creative, and experiential learning among the students and providing frequent opportunities for giving the students wider exposure.
The theme for this year’s exhibition was ‘Technology and Toys’ which covers the following sub-themes: Eco-Friendly Material, Health and Cleanliness, Software and Apps, Transport, Mathematical Modeling, and Environmental and Climate Changes.
The exhibits were adjudged by Prof Arun Bharti- HoD Department of Physics (University of Jammu), Dr Rajiv Kumar Assistant Professor Mathematics (GGM Science College) while as participants of seminar were adjudged by Dr Suphla Gupta, Dr Sundeep Jaglan, Principal Scientists from IIIM Jammu, Dr Sandeep Arya, Assistant Prof Department of Physics (University of Jammu) and Dr Balgar (AO, SCERT JK).
First three toppers of the Exhibition were Solar Tracker Model (Rummy Sharma & Chahat Sharma from GHS Parangoli Kathua), Green Building Model (Manvi Dabgotra & Abhay of GGHSS Rehari) and Mathematics Model (Bhumi & Parinitika from MS Jakhar).
Toppers adjudged at Seminar were Suhani Rajput (HSS Hatli Kathua), Manesha Devi (HSS Keerian Kathua) and Parnav Sharma (BHSS Sunderbani Rajouri)
Valedictory function on the occasion was presided over by Deep Raj, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha J&K.
