SCERT celebrates Foundation Day, organizes interaction conference

JAMMU, Sept 1: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) today celebrated its Foundation Day with a one-day Interaction Conference at the SCERT J&K Divisional Office, Jammu.

The programme was graced by Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director, SCERT J&K and Director School Education Jammu, as the chief guest, along with Prof (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT J&K, and Dr Deep Novel Kour, Deputy Secretary to School Education Department.

Principals of all ten DIETs of Jammu Division, faculty members of SCERT and other academic stakeholders participated in the celebrations.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the National Anthem.

In her welcome address, Prof (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor highlighted the significance of Foundation Day and spoke about SCERT's evolution and contributions to academic planning, research, curriculum development, teacher education and capacity building.

Delivering the key address, Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary highlighted the evolving role of SCERT J&K in strengthening curriculum development, educational research, teacher capacity building and academic innovation.

He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts and evidence-based academic practices for building a responsive, inclusive and future-ready education system.

A presentation on the journey of SCERT J&K was delivered by Rajesh Hall, Senior Academic Officer, tracing the institution's evolution and major milestones in curriculum development, teacher education, research, academic support and professional development.

A documentary depicting the journey of SCERT Jammu was also screened. The programme also witnessed the release of Teacher Resource Science Books for the Middle Stage, developed to provide meaningful academic support to teachers and facilitate effective, competency-oriented teaching-learning practices.

The programme was coordinated by Monica Sharma and Manu Vasudeva, while Rakesh Kumar Chobber, Anil Sharma and Vivek Jandial served as Technical Coordinators and ensured the smooth technical execution of the event.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Arti Gupta, Assistant Professor.
