SBI opens branch at Swankha

JAMMU, Apr 20: Continuing with its spree, the country’s largest bank State Bank of India today opened its 159th branch in Jammu and Kashmir and 7th in the Samba district in an unbanked area at Swankha.
The branch was inaugurated by MLA Surjit Singh Slathia in presence of senior officials of the bank including Ajit Kumar Jain (Deputy General Manager-B&O, Jammu and Kashmir Module), Chand Ji Tiku (Regional Manager RBO-III) and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Slathia appreciated the role of SBI in economic development of the State and expressed the hope that this branch at Swankha would become a vehicle for economic growth of the area. He also motivated the local population to make full contribution towards the success of bank by providing maximum deposits to the branch and get benefited by availing the best banking facilities offered by SBI.
A K Jain, Deputy General Manager announced that SBI will be adding another 15 branches besides 100 ATMs for the convenience of its customers this year in the State.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Chand Ji Tiku threw light on services of the bank being offered for farmers, general consumers and industrialists.
Nidhi Anand, Branch Manager of the new branch thanked all the dignitaries of the function as well as Sarpanchs and Panchs of the villages and assured them the best possible service in time to come.
