JAMMU, Nov 9: In an impressive function, State Bank of India (SBI), Branch Karan Nagar, today donated blankets and distributed fruits to the inmates of Ved Mandir Bal Niketan, Ambphalla, Jammu.
The function was presided over by Kumar Rajan, General Manager, Network 3 of SBI, Chandigarh Circle while Arvind Priya, Deputy General Manager (J&K), Rajesh Anand, Regional Manager (Jammu), IK Raina, Chief Manager, Kripa Shanker, Chief Manager and Romesh Chand, Branch Manager, were also present.
The blankets were formally donated by General Manager, SBI and were received by Balkrishan Gupta, vice president, Ved Mandir Committee and Satish Mittal, joint secretary.
On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the students of Bal Niketan and Balika Niketan, Ved Mandir.
Speaking on the behalf of Ved Mandir Committee, Captain Parshoutam Sharma, expressed gratitude of SBI for the much needed donation. He also highlighted the various welfare activities undertaken by the Committee for boys and girls of Bal Niketan and Balika Niketan schools, who had become orphans due to militancy.
General Manager, SBI, Kumar Rajan in his address lauded the role and efforts of the Ved Mandir Committee for rehabilitation of the poor and hapless boys and girls. He assured the Committee of his full support in future as well.
