The Hindi poetry book entitled ” Prakriti Ki Godd Mein” by SarojBala depicts nature’s charms and its pivotal role in the survival and sustaining the society. She has through her choicest words pleaded the need for adequate safeguards of the nature and our environs and written about social issues. The poetry has certainly good impact on the masses for upkeeping the environment green and clean, always and at all costs.
In the poem titled ” Dhifhiya K Ghonsla” the apt wording convey the message as follows:
Aksar Band Kamro Mai
DhundaKarati Hu
Kochh N KuchhAkele
( As we deliberate alone in solitude, we invariably conclude for safety of sparrow’s net meaning the continuous flow of life)
This well designed poetry book contains 57 Hindi poetic compositions which cater well as the intellectual and educative feast for every reader. The poems of my choice include: DhoopAngan Ki, KaashAasahota, Piya Aaye Gae, KavitaHoo Mein, Shaheed Mere GaonKa, Pakriti Ke Raang, Pakritit Ke Godd Meein, Sapno Ki Duniya , RishtaPremKa, Dharti Ki Chikh Udhas Chandi, Jiwanke Mausam Me, Aajki Tasbeer.
I have gone through this book with avid interest and was impressed by the poetic venture of SarojBala from Kathua who is author of another book to her credit. She is graduate and also qualified B Ed course from Jammu University.
For production of this book, she has received financial assistance from the J&K State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for this literary work .
SarojBala’s literary instinct is well depicted in a stanza in the poem “HaiyehShabad” speak for itself:.
Shabbd hi haijo
Kaldanauo K Assma
PatangoKeTaasah
Satrangi Dor Se
UdateHaiRaatur Din
The poetry is, in fact, an art and craft of expression in any language which convey the true meanings of thought process and experiences of the authors. It is the simplicity and clarity in the communication of SarojBala which has made her poetic compositions admirable for the readership.
She speaks high of her parents who invariably supported her in the literary venture.
Questioned by me, SarojBala stated that she came in the literary field by chance but once in it she never looks back now. She has plans to come out with yet one more book for the children.
The book under review is good product with fine printing on quality paper but I feel that it has been priced at the higher level for an average reader. However, the book is worth going through for its simple language, high flight of imagination, depth of thoughts and relevant themes which cover social issues, nature’s bounty, moral and spiritual topics. I think the book will be received fondly by the readers including academicians, students and average citizen.
