Sanskrit Diwas observed at JU

JAMMU, Aug 31: The Post Graduate Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, today organized Sanskrit Divas and held discussions on Sanskrit language.
The objective behind observance of the Sanskrit Diwas was to spread awareness about the language, which personifies India’s rich cultural heritage.
Besides holding various events on the impact and importance of Sanskrit, the Department of Sanskrit also resolved to earmark one day in a week for interaction between the students and the faculty in Sanskrit only.
“We will be communicating with each other in Sanskrit only on every Friday”, the Head of the Department said and stressed the need for holistic approach in promoting the ancient language.
On this occasion, Prof B N Labh, Dean faculty of Arts was the chief guest. Prof Sushma Devi Gupta, Dr Vidhyadhar Singh, Dr Pratibha, Dr Satyapriya, Umesh Paudel, Prince Sharma, Nabita Jamwal, Vipan Sharma and Usha Sharma were also present.
