KARGIL, Aug 19: Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Rigzin Sampheal called upon the Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan at the Council Secretariat here today and apprised him of patient care facilities regarding COVID-19 besides various developmental activities.
Some of the points that came up for discussion related to preparations to deal with COVID-19 situation at the COVID-19 dedicated Hospital Kargil included, establishment of new oxygen back-up plant, procurement of DG Set for power back-up, procurement of more mega and medium oxygen cylinders, CT Scans at CHCs, increasing the carrying capacity of the COVID-19 hospital to 120 beds, establishment of fully automatic COVID-19 Lab, increasing man power at the COVID-19 Hospital as well as the District Hospital and the need for giving specialized trainings to the ICU staff of District Hospital.
The Commissioner/ Secretary passed on spot directions to CMO Kargil for engagement of the required staff besides directing CMO Kargil to submit detailed proposal with regards to making CT Scan machines available in the district. He also said that 600 numbers of additional oxygen cylinders would be procured in the next two weeks to supplement the current stock. He informed the Chairman/CEC that one oxygen plant is already functioning and another one is under construction.
Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil enquired about sanctioning of adequate funds for purchase and stocking of equipment and medicines supply in addition to the normal supply in wake of COVID-19 for the six winter months period. He also raised the issue of release of salaries of NCD/IDSP staff and desired that due action be taken in the matter.
Various other issues also came up for discussion in the meeting which included approval for internal roads of Kargil Town, release of work done liabilities under CRF, compensation for hoteliers and guest house owners, filling up of vacant posts of officers and officials, and review of the recently published Transfer Policy.
