SAMBA, Nov 14: District police Samba worked out a sensational blind murder case and arrested the accused person.
Brief facts of the case are that on October 11, at about 0700 hours an information was received through reliable sources at Police Station, Samba that one unidentified male dead body whose face was wrapped in a polythene bag was lying at Talot Yard road side at Samba-Sumb link road and some injuries were also seen on the neck of the dead body which were actually stab wounds. It seemed that some unknown persons had committed the murder.
In this regard a case FIR No. 268/2018 U/S 302 RPC was registered at P/S Samba and a police party under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs Samba and SHO P/S Samba immediately swung into action and visited the spot. The dead body was shifted to DH Samba and where its post-mortem was conducted. During the course of investigation, information regarding unidentified male dead body was also circulated through print and electronic media for identification. Accordingly Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba constituted a SIT for thorough probe into the case under the supervision of Faisal Qureshi, Additional SP Samba comprising of members Anil Saini, Senior. PO, Inspector, Chanchal Singh SHO P/S Samba, Inspector, Vikram Manhas, SI Rajveer Singh Incharge PP Mansar & ASI Mohan Lal.
On October 13 one Ranjit Singh, S/o Fakir Singh, R/o Babliana tehsil and district Jammu along with other family members came at Police Station, Samba and they identified the deceased as Dalbir Singh alias Sunny S/o Fakir Singh R/o Babliana Tehsil and district Jammu.
During the course of investigation, SIT with the help of technical assistance came to know that the location of the deceased Dalbir Singh alias Sunny was last found in the house of one person namely Ajay Kumar Gupta, S/o Madan Lal Gupta ,R/o Gangyal, Jammu when his mobile phone was switched off which raised the suspicion on Ajay Kumar Gupta. Accordingly the suspect was rounded up by SIT and interrogated who during sustained interrogation confessed that he had committed the crime. The illicit relation of the deceased with the daughter of accused was main cause of murder.
In order to get rid off him, on October 10, Ajay Kumar Gupta and his family members with the intention to murder Dalbir Singh called him at their home at Gangyal Jammu and attacked him with iron rod and wooden Mortor (Kundadanda) and inflicted fatal injuries on head of Dalbir Singh due to which he fell unconscious. Then they inflicted multiple stab wounds on neck of deceased with a scissor to stop his breathing to ascertain the death of Dalbir Singh. With the intention to destroy crucial evidence the accused person and his family members disposed off the dead body of deceased Dalbir Singh alias Sunny and his belongings using their own Maruti Omni Van. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
