UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: As the ongoing strike by Safai Karamcharis entered into sixth consecutive day on Saturday, the entire town is wearing a look of garbage dumping station with heaps of filth here and there.
Members of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh Udhampur assembled in front of the office of Municipal Committee Udhampur this morning and protested in favor of their long pending demands.
Kaka Husain, District president Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh J&K, highlighted the demands, which include recruitment of Safai Karamcharis at Government level, regularization of the employees who have completed more than seven year of service, clearance of pending arrears of Daily wager Safai Karamcharis , clearing pending cases under SRO 43, etc.
The District president announced to continue the strike till all their demands are conceded by the Government.
