JAMMU, Sept 15: Safaikaramcharis Union of Jammu Municipality has expressed its satisfaction over the first ever meeting with the JMC Commissioner Mandeep Kour, here yesterday.
Ch Jarnail Khokhar, president of National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU), duly recognized by the Ministry of Labour, Govt of India, informed that they had presented a charter of demands to the Commissioner highlighting the demands of Safaikaramcharis in Jammu.
Khokhar said that more than 32 issues of Safaikaramcharis were discussed in details and the Commissioner agreed to consider all genuine issues within her powers and also assured to take up other issues with higher authorities.
While addressing the Safaikaramcharis after meeting with the Commissioner, Khokhar reiterated the demand that well qualified children of Safaikaramcharis be exempted from State Subject and may be provided jobs, at least in the JMC. “All laws for the Safaikaramcharis and schemes launched by the Central Government for their welfare be implemented by the JMC besides organizing regular Health camps for the medical checkup of the Safaikaramcharis and their families,” he demanded.
All the senior leaders of NFITU were present on the occasion. They included Lazer, Yaqoob, William, Sabi, Sunny Khokhar, Kashmira, Gulshan, Bharat Khokhar, Sony and others.
