Sacrificed everything for Delhiites, sad BJP calling me terrorist: Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday expressed regret over Bharatiya Janata Party leader Parvesh Verma’s recent comments where in he allegedly called Mr Kejriwal a terrorist.
“Worked day and night for five years for Delhi. Sacrificed everything for the people of Delhi. Faced many difficulties after joining politics, to improve people’s lives.
Today in return, the Bharatiya Janata Party is calling me a terrorist … It hurts”, Kejriwal said in a tweet. Earlier during a rally Parvesh Verma compared Mr Kejriwal with a terrorist, saying, “Many ‘natwarlals’ and terrorists like Kejriwal are hiding in Delhi.
I do not understand if we should fight with terrorists in Kashmir or with terrorist Kejriwal in Delhi.” Notably, the Election commission of India, today, removed Verma from BJP’s star campaigners for Delhi assembly elections over his communally charged and controversial statements.
Verma, on Tuesday, had courted a major controversy by calling Shaheen Bagh protesters as ‘rapists and murderers’, to which the EC took notice on Wednesday.
Along with Verma, EC has also removed Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur from BJP’s star campaigners list, till further orders. (AGENCIES)
