Rutba to represent India in World Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 17: Rutba Majid- a Taekwondo player hailing from Doda will represent India at 3rd Mount Everest International Open Taekwondo Championship (G2), being organised by Nepal Taekwondo Association at Multi Purpose Covered Hall, Pokhara Stadium, Pokhara (Nepal) from September 21 to 25.
Rutba Majid is going to represent India in the junior female under-46 kg category. She will be the first junior athlete from Chenab Valley who will represent India at the world Taekwondo event and all this is possible because of the Indian Army.
The Indian Army fulfilled Rutba’s dream of representing India and also borne the cost of the event and travel expenses.
Rutba-a trainee of Shield Taekwondo Academy Doda has been selected on the basis of her recent performance at J&K and National level Taekwondo Championships. Recently, she won a bronze medal in the 13th Open National Taekwondo Championships at Ujjain and Gold medal in 24th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships at Jammu.
Coach Burhan Ud Din Khan (NIS Taekwondo Coach) thanked the Indian Army who assisted Rutba for the above said event especially the Commanding Officer 10RR and Major Naveed who is always ready to help the athletes of Doda.
Master Atul Pangotra (Referee Chairman, TFI) congratulated Rutba Majid and her coach for the upcoming event.
