JAMMU, Oct 3: In his maiden visit to the State since BJP coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is arriving here next month.
The Sarsanghchalak is visiting Jammu on November 13&14 and during his two day stay here, he is scheduled to take close door meetings of the different RSS functionaries, besides addressing separate assemblies of ‘Swayamsevaks and woman volunteers from the State, sources said.
During his meetings with different RSS functionaries and State heads of Sangh outfits, Mohan Bhagwat will take feedback on ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir besides functioning of the sister organizations here, sources added.
While elaborating, sources informed that the RSS supremo is scheduled to arrive Jammu on November 13 in the morning and he will address a grand assembly of Swayamsevaks at Parade Ground Jammu at 2 p.m. This will be followed by a series of closed door meetings with the RSS functionaries till late evening while on November 14, Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to address a gathering of female volunteers and supporters of RSS at Eden Garden banquet hall before his departure in the afternoon, sources said.
This will be the first visit of RSS chief to the State after BJP coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, he had visited the State in 2013.
Even as the scheduled visit is part of the customary annual five-day ‘Prant Pravaas’ (stay in a region) of the RSS chief for taking feed back from the Sangh volunteers at ground level, sources said that the development assumes more significance in view of the prevailing situation in PDP-BJP alliance ruled Jammu and Kashmir State and escalating tension with the neighbouring Pakistan following surgical strikes in PoK.
This year, Panipat in Haryana is going to be place of ‘Pravas’ of the RSS chief who was supposed to stay there for all the five days, but he desired to spare two days for personally visiting Jammu and meeting with the Swayamsevaks here for taking feedback on the ground situation, sources explained.
Though Mohan Bhagwat’s itinerary does not comprise any meeting with the BJP Ministers here, sources said that the same is likely to take place in early morning of November 14.
