JAMMU, Oct 2: On the birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, rich tributes were paid to the great social reformer, here today.
In this connection, a simple but impressive function was organized at Lala Hans Raj Park, adjoining Gurdwara Sunder Singh Road.
Dignitaries from the Mahajan community, including Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta, National Conference leader Rattan Gupta and office bearers of the Mahajan Sabha along with others, garlanded the statue of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan and paid their tributes.
Earlier, a Havan Yagya was also performed there by the Central Mahajan Sabha Jammu. A number of people from the Mahajan community took part in the Yagya and paid their tributes to Lala Hans Raj Mahajan.
Speakers on the occasion threw light on the life of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan and his works done for the upliftment of people, particularly the Mahajan biradri.
