Retired migrant employees seek leave encashment

JAMMU, Aug 3: Kashmir Migrant Retired Employees Forum in an appeal to State Governor has sought his intervention in settling the issue of leave encashment.
In a memorandum to Governor through the convener of the Forum, Pamposh Koul it said the migrant employees have served for over three decades in State Government departments but they have been left bereft of benefit of cash in –lieu , something they are entitled to . The memorandum said that the migrant employees have been deprived of cash in lieu for the wrong reasons.
The memorandum said that Government is fully aware of the historical background of the mass exodus of minorities from the Valley whop did not left their homes and hearths on their sweet will but were forced to leave on gun point by terrorists and separatists on behest of Pakistan by indulging in selective killings of the members of the community.
The memorandum said that during the displacement migrant employees kept themselves available and did not hesitate in discharging their duties wherever government engaged them including election as well as census duties.
It said the migrant employees are regular tax payers and contribute to the economy of State and country as well.
It said while previous State Government picked up some displaced employees by giving them benefit of cash in lieu at the time of their retirement but a big chunk of these employees have been deprived of the same.
It said though the displaced employees over the years have been running from pillar to post and meeting officers and authorities at the helm of affairs but the treatment meted to them has been discriminately and apathetic.
