JAMMU, Oct 12: To highlight their demands and grievances, Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers held a strong protest demonstration in front of the Directorate of School Education complex, here today.
A large number of ReTs from all the districts participated in a day long protest demonstration, which was held under the banners of All J&K ReT Teacher Forum and led by State president Vinod Sharma.
While addressing the gathering, Vinod Sharma lambasted the State Government and the Education Department for their biased approach towards ReT fraternity. He said that regularization of ReTs, who have completed 5 years service one and half years back, is still pending and they are harassed on the name of verification where as the court has ordered only to verify the Degrees issued by Tuk shops/Fake Universities.
Adding that verification and regularization can be done simultaneously, he further alleged that the department has even failed to streamline the salary of SSA Teachers, which is pending for the last 4 to 6 months. Similarly, KGBV Teachers are also still waiting for their regularization despite the assurances of the Government in this regard, he added.
Vinod Sharma also demanded immediate revocation of order which debarred the regularized ReTs from Board Exams duties. He said that ReTs have been performing highly sensitive duties like Election Duty, Census Duty, BLO Duty but they are exempted from exams duties which is clear injustice and which can not tolerated any more. He also asked the Government to implement the High Court order to transfer the regularized ReTs.
State general secretary of the ReT Forum, Najam Jafri, warned that in case their all grievances are not addressed on priority basis, they would hold State wide protest on the opening of annual Darbar at Jammu for which the Government would be responsible.
Others who also spoke during the protest, included Younis Rahi, Rajesh Jamwal, Bhupinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Naresh Sharma, Lekh Raj Parihar, Gulzabair Daing, Sajjad Malik, Manzoor Khan, Sukesh Khajuria, Sham Sharma, Subash Chander, Balwan Singh, Mahesh Kumar, Rinku Sharma, Tahir Masood, Naresh Thakur, Anita Kiran and Neha Sharma.
