JAMMU, July 4: A deputation of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum, led by State chief coordinator, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, today called on Dr Jitendra Singh , MoS in PMO at the latter’s official residence at North Block New Delhi, regarding the issue of SSA salary in J&K, which has become a chronic problem and submitted him a charter of demands.
Mr Sumbria informed that thousands of SSA teachers in J&K are without salary for the last 4 to 6 months and the family members of these teachers are suffering badly and they are unable to celebrate the sacred festivals like Eid, Dewali etc.
He appealed the Union Minister to streamline the SSA salary in J&K by getting the funds released from MHRD as remaining first installment Centre share so that thousands of SSA teachers of the State may not suffer any more.
Dr Singh listened to the deputation quite patiently and assured to take up the matter with MHRD for the release of funds under SSA at the earliest. He also assured his full support to resolve the SSA salary issue in J&K.
