Residents of Ghatti hold protest against SIDCO

KATHUA, May 23: The residents of village Ghatti, Dabwal , Nanan and adjoining area held a protest demonstration against SIDCO at Ghatti near here.
The protesters led by Sarpanch, Prithipal Singh assembled opposite to SIDCO Office, Ghatti and held a strong protest demonstration against SIDCO for ignoring local population who is facing hardships due negligent attitude towards local population who have given their valuable land to Industry.
Sarpanch, Prithipal Singh said that the road from National Highway to village Ghatti is badly damaged having deep pit holes. The road has been turned into a Khad and creating serious problems to drive even a cycle on it as the heavy vehicles of Industry have damaged the road completely.
He said that the Industrialists also adopting discriminatory policy with local people and recruited them only on the post of labourers.
He said on the higher posts outsiders from J&K were appointed. But the local people were engaged for labour class jobs only on lowest wages. They warned the Government to settle their grievances without any delay otherwise they will start agitation prolonged agitation.
