JAMMU, May 4: Residents of Mass House Society, Lower Thather, have appealed the PDD authorities to collect Power usage charges from them as per metered reading and not the flat rates.
Highlighting their grievance, the Society residents said that they have been facing problems for more than a year with regard to the power supply and billing. “This is happening because this colony has been made hostage by the society bearers who took over billing from PDD and are charging us a flat rate of Rs 3 per unit and with no proper procedure, they explained, adding that this was going unchecked and further they were being threatened by the staff on duty to pay the billing on time or face consequences of snapping of power.
“Our power is being snapped on petty issues and the society is using this as a tool to harass us. However, when it comes to any kind of a problem with regard to the supply, we are asked to approach the PDD on our own and that time the society abandons the residents,” the residents said and sought immediate attention of the Chief Engineers PDD to direct the concerned wing to bill the society residents as they used to do till a year ago.
