Foul play alleged in youth’s death

BHADERWAH, July 22: Agitated over the alleged murder of a 23-year-old youth, hundreds of people including women held protest near Bhalla and blocked the Doda-Bhaderwah highway, disrupting vehicular traffic for over four hours, here today. They were demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.
As per reports, a day after a 23-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in forest area of Trown village here, the victim’s family has alleged foul play in the incident.
The autopsy was conducted today at the SDH Bhadarwah, but the residents refused to take the body.
The residents and family members’ alleged lacklustre attitude of the police and civil administration to take the matter seriously which compelled them to hit the road and hold protest against police and in support of their demand that immediate FIR should be lodged against the suspects and the arrest should be made at the earliest.
According to the father of the deceased Narjeet Kumar, a resident of village Thalsara, his son Sanjeet Kotwal (23) went for haircut and to offer prayers at hill top temple in Trown area but he came to know that his body was found in the dense forest. He demanded the arrest of the culprits and registration of a murder case.
After 4 hours of hectic efforts and assurance from SP Bhadarwah Abdul Qayoom and DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal that the 3 suspects have been identified and will be simultaneously picked for questioning, the residents lifted the sit in protest and agreed to take the body.
When contacted, Incharge SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that inquest proceeding under Section 174 CrPC has been initiated into the matter, beside a SIT has been constituted led by DySP Headquarters Doda Jaswant Singh.
“We are investigating the case from all angles and hopefully we will soon reach to the culprits, who are involved in the incident”, Qayoom added, saying that investigation is under process and we have also put the mobile number of the deceased on technical analysis to get some clues.
